Purpose of Role
Based either in Ottawa or Toronto, you will be a key member of a dynamic and innovative group of lawyers, clerks and legal support staff, providing the highest level of service to our clients, while having the opportunity to cultivate your skills as part of our successful national Corporate Commercial team, within Canada’s premier full-service law firm.

Key Responsibilities and Skills
The key responsibilities of this role are:
Prepare and file corporate documentation relating to incorporations, amendments, continuances, amalgamations, dissolutions, changes in corporate structure and transactions governed by the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act and the Ontario Not-For-Profit Corporations Act, 2010
Manage client relationships
Prepare annual corporate maintenance for not-for-profit corporations
Assist in identifying necessary and appropriate corporate documentation, searches and filing requirements in connection with the completion of transactions
Provide support to lawyers in connection with drafting corporate documents, conducting searches, pulling reports and other matters relating to transactions in the not-for-profit sector
Key Competencies
What you will bring to this role:
Minimum 5 years experience as a Corporate Law Clerk, with a strong focus on charitable and not-for-profit clients
Knowledge of for-profit corporations will be considered an asset
Strong work ethic, continuous improvement mindset and a self-starter in a fast-paced environment
Bilingualism will be considered an asset
Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills
