Applicants should have a law degree from an accredited law school and a minimum of eight years of relevant experience gained in private practice or as in-house counsel, ideally in the higher education space and with student affairs legal experience. Candidate must either be a member of the California State Bar or any other State Bar and otherwise qualified and register to practice law in CA as registered in-house counsel upon starting in this role.

The expected pay range for this position is $250,000-$340,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
