Responsibilities
•Design and deliver AI
curriculum covering machine learning fundamentals, natural language processing
(NLP), computer vision, IoT, generative AI, and prompt engineering
•Deliver content on AI
ethics, responsible AI development, open-source AI, data feminism, and
environmental impact of generative AI
•Adapt all content to
reflect Tanzanian and East African contexts, using local and open-source
datasets
•Facilitate hybrid in-person
and online training sessions, averaging 11 hours per week over 23 weeks
•Guide participants through
AI-focused capstone projects in collaboration with local industry partners
•Engage with industry
partners on curriculum alignment and internship placement opportunities
•Organize onsite excursions
to at least two AI ecosystem actors in Tanzania
•Contribute to open
educational resources and course materials hosted on digital learning platforms
Requirements
Knowledge and Experience
•University degree in
computer science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, computer
engineering, or a related field
•Minimum 5 years of
experience in AI or data science training
•Minimum 3 years of
experience specifically designing AI training for women or marginalized
communities
•Demonstrated knowledge of
AI ethics and responsible AI frameworks
•Experience with learning
management systems such as Moodle or atingi
•Strong facilitation,
presentation, and interpersonal skills
•Experience working with
industry partners and academic institutions in ICT training design and delivery
•Minimum 3 years of
experience in projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, of which 2 years in Tanzania
•Fluent in English and
Swahili
