Project Overview:
The Technical Assistance (TA) Coordinator will primarily support the Grow Together initiative, a Village Enterprise program that integrates Economic Strengthening (ES) into Early Childhood Development (ECD) and caregiver support programs through technical assistance to local implementing partners in Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique.
The role sits within Village Enterprise's Technical Assistance portfolio and may also provide technical coordination and implementation support across other TA initiatives as organizational priorities evolve.
Position Overview:
The TA Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the delivery of high-quality technical assistance to partner organizations implementing Village Enterprise approaches. The Coordinator serves as the primary day-to-day focal point for assigned partners, supporting co-design, capacity strengthening, quality assurance, adaptive management, and learning to ensure successful adoption and implementation of Village Enterprise methodologies. While initially supporting the Grow Together initiative, the Coordinator may be assigned to additional technical assistance projects and partnerships across Village Enterprise's portfolio based on organizational priorities.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Partnership Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Support the implementation of technical assistance partnerships for the Grow Together project, ensuring alignment with Village Enterprise's mission and project objectives.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with local partner organizations, consortium agencies, government entities, and other stakeholders at the field level.
- Coordinate closely with the Technical Assistance Manager and other project staff to ensure effective collaboration and implementation of project activities.
- Represent Village Enterprise in local-level stakeholder meetings, forums, and partner engagements to support project objectives.
2. Technical Assistance and Capacity Support:
- Provide hands-on technical assistance to local partners in implementing the Poverty Graduation Model, including micro-enterprise development and savings group facilitation.
- Support training sessions and mentorship programs for local implementing partners to ensure adherence to project methodologies and best practices.
- Identify capacity gaps among local partner organizations and assist in implementing targeted training and capacity-strengthening initiatives.
- Assist in the adaptation and contextualization of Village Enterprise training and mentoring materials based on project needs.
3. Program Implementation and Monitoring:
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor the performance and compliance of local partner organizations with Village Enterprise's standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Identify implementation challenges and work closely with partners to provide timely solutions and recommendations.
- Support local partners in tracking progress against key project milestones and ensuring adherence to agreed work plans.
- Assist in compiling reports on project activities, outputs, and results, ensuring they align with monitoring and project reporting frameworks.
4. Safeguarding and Compliance:

- Support local partners in understanding and adhering to Village Enterpriseâs safeguarding policies.
- Sensitize program participants on risks related to child abuse, sexual/financial exploitation, prevention, and response mechanisms.
- Ensure safeguarding measures are effectively implemented in all program activities.
- Report any safeguarding concerns encountered during program implementation for appropriate action and follow-up.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Number of households reached by the Grow Together partners.
- Effective training and capacity strengthening provided to local implementing partners.
- Quality and strength of partnerships and collaborations with Grow Together project stakeholders.
- Efficient monitoring, reporting, and problem-solving in alignment with project milestones and deliverables.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelorâs degree in International Development, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project implementation, technical assistance, or partnership coordination in international development or poverty alleviation initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in capacity building and working directly with local organizations at the field level.
- Understanding of entrepreneurship, micro-enterprise development, and community-based poverty alleviation strategies.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in diverse, multicultural settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other project management tools.
- Fluency in English and knowledge of local languages is an added advantage.
