WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: You will support the fundraising department in establishing best-in-class donor cultivation, engagement and stewardship resources and processes that retain and grow donor investment in the mission of the American Red Cross. A successful team member will have strong persuasive writing and project management skills and be willing to take on new tasks. This position will be responsible for written communication to donors, including: grant proposals, stewardship reports and informational updates – as well as donor cultivation event support and donor recognition activities.
This is a full time, hourly position with benefits that will work in a hybrid setting . You will work from home, meet with United Way partners in Oklahoma as needed, and attend meetings in the Tulsa or Oklahoma City office a few times a year.
WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD (key responsibilities):
Research, write, develop, and implement strategies to increase revenue through workplace giving campaigns and grant proposals. Enhance relationships with foundations and government agencies in support of funding needs.
Participate in grant/funding development through grant research, selection, and proposal writing processes. Ensure grant program’s adherence to American Red Cross, government and industry guidelines. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.
Implement and create best practices on workplace giving for United Way and other foundations.
Identify, pursue, cultivate, and enhance relationships with foundations and government agencies in support of funding needs.
Provide guidance and collaborate with Leaders to develop and execute the strategy to build grantor relationships, streamline the grant process, and increase support.
Works closely with colleagues across departments to ensure that the organization takes full advantage of programmatic funding opportunities.
Maintains grant proposals and reporting calendar. Personally responsible for researching and writing grant proposals and reports.
Conducts in-depth analysis and exploration in order to advise others regarding which foundations, agencies or corporations would be suitable to approach for the organization’s funding needs.
Gathers and analyzes all information required for donor communications including service deliver statistics, financial information, impact stories and community profiles. Conducts regular trend analysis and shared pertinent data with relevant stakeholders.
Creates donor stewardship reports and authors a variety of donor communications.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
Associate's Degree or equivalent required.
Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Skills & Abilities: Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Basic proficiency in use of Personal Computer, word-processing, spreadsheet applications, and database applications when applicable. Ability to work on a team.
Travel: May include occasional travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout chapter jurisdiction, state and Red Cross system.
Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
