Immediate opening for a full-time University Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel of Stanford University. This position reports to the Deputy General Counsel and Managing Attorney. The attorney in this role will primarily provide legal advice on student and academic affairs matters such as disability access and accommodations; student misconduct, discipline and leaves; political activity; academic integrity, student records and privacy; discrimination and sexual misconduct; admissions and financial aid; diversity initiatives; student organizations; community safety; and litigation and pre-litigation disputes.

We are willing to consider candidates with more work experience for a Senior University Counsel position. Applicants should have a law degree from an accredited law school and a minimum of six years of relevant experience gained in private practice or as in-house counsel, ideally in the higher education space and with student affairs legal experience. Candidate must either be a member of the California State Bar or any other State Bar and otherwise qualified and register to practice law in CA as registered in-house counsel upon starting in this role.
