The Stanford Center for Dissemination and Implementation (CDI) in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking a full-time hybrid Communications Director to work with leadership to develop and implement communications and marketing initiatives.
CDI is a leading center for implementation science that drives the effort to get the best and latest treatments to all patients. CDI consists of three national federally-funded implementation centers:
· The Center for Dissemination and Implementation At Stanford (C-DIAS), National Institute on Drug Abuse (P50DA05402)
· The Research Adoption Support Center (RASC), National Institutes of Health Healing Addiction Long Term (HEAL) initiative (U2CDA057717)
· And, the new National Center for Mental Health Dissemination, Implementation, and Sustainment (MHDIS), Substance Use and Mental Health Services Administration (H79SM090078).
The Communications Director will provide strategic direction for marketing and communications activities across projects. They will work with leadership, staff, and national consultants to develop communications plans to disseminate and share our mission, goals, and work. We are looking for a high energy, creative, and mission-driven person, with at least five years of expertise across multiple communication platforms. We seek a professional with proven expertise in executing campaigns that build awareness of a brand and its services, preferably for a non-profit or mission-driven organization; expertise in translating scientific content to lay audiences; expertise with digital, web, print, and social media marketing; demonstrated ability to work with multiple program areas and internal stakeholders; experience or interest in a mental health, addiction, health, or social service-related field; and expertise with brand management. Duties include:
- Recommend and execute marketing strategies to meet business objectives.
- Manage marketing plans/programs to meet business objectives, including collaboration with internal stakeholders and vendor partners.
- Implement integrated marketing communications and brand strategy, across a variety of channels (i.e., digital and print).
- Oversee design and production of marketing materials from inception to deployment.
- Conduct market research, including competitive benchmarking, and analyze campaign/program/service/event effectiveness used to inform decisions regarding strategic marketing direction, product segmentation and customer targeting.
- Assess market opportunities and track market trends. Recommend marketing improvements based on findings.
- Plan and execute events to support marketing objectives.
- Manage vendors/consultants on specific projects.
- Manage project/program budget(s) and coordinate invoice processing.
- May oversee interns and other contingent staff; provide staff training.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
- Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
Previous experience in product, program and/or services marketing.
