The Westminster Street Outreach service works 365 days a year to support anyone who finds themselves rough sleeping in Westminster. We meet, assess and support individuals to find a suitable, and sustainable, route away from the street.
In this role you will:
- Undertake outreach work on a rota basis including working early mornings, late nights and at weekends if required.
- Assess the needs of individuals who are experiencing homelessness or sleeping rough and to provide them with a variety of options of support services/accommodation in liaison with other agencies and specialist workers.
- Advocate, where appropriate, on behalf of people experiencing homelessness or who are sleeping rough with external agencies regarding their welfare rights, Primary Health Care needs and other issues affecting their Health and wellbeing.
- Maintain a caseload of 22-25 individuals that are homeless and rough sleeping on the streets of Westminster.
- Offer clients assertive and consistent guidance and support until they are in a position to be able to move away from the streets into accommodation/ reconnection services and/or other appropriate support services.

We encourage you to apply if you have good communication skills with the ability to network and build effective relationships with a variety of people, a good understanding of the complex issues faced by homeless people and the difficulties they experience in accessing services.
If you think you have the resilience and patience to work with people who may have complex needs and challenging behaviour, we will provide you with the tools and training to support clients to end rough sleeping for good.
A full UK or equivalent driving license and Language skills are beneficial, but not essential.
