The Resident Transport Driver is responsible for safely transporting residents of our senior living community to medical appointments, shopping trips, recreational outings, and scheduled community events using a 14-passenger bus. This position does not require a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), but requires a clean driving record, strong customer service skills, and a commitment to resident safety and dignity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Safely operate a 14-passenger community bus in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies

Transport residents to and from medical appointments, errands, outings, and scheduled activities

Assist residents entering and exiting the vehicle, including those using walkers or wheelchairs

Secure wheelchairs and mobility devices properly before transport

Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after each shift

Maintain cleanliness and fuel levels of the vehicle

Maintain accurate transportation logs and mileage records
-
Communicate clearly with residents, families, and staff regarding schedules and delays
-
Respond calmly and appropriately in emergency situations

Support Life Enrichment activities when transportation is not scheduled
QualificationsQualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
-
Valid state driver’s license (CDL not required)
-
Clean driving record (motor vehicle report required)

Minimum 2 years of driving experience

Experience working with seniors preferred

Ability to pass background check and drug screening
-
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Ability to assist residents with mobility needs

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with mobility equipment

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit for extended periods while driving
