- Ph.D. in evaluation, social work, social science, or other research discipline
- 10 or more years of experience in program evaluation, community-based evaluation, applied research, teaching, and/or nonprofit or foundation work
- Knowledge, experience, and demonstrated interest in racial equity work
- Experience leading collaborative team-based work
- Experience in customer service, consulting, or other client-focused work
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills
- Strong knowledge of statistics and evaluation research methodology
- Ability to work collaboratively with foundation staff, clients, and community partners
- Willingness to travel in Michigan and locate in Greater Grand Rapids
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively

Preferred Qualifications and Education:
- 10+ years post-Ph.D. experience in program evaluation, community-based evaluation, applied research, teaching, and/or nonprofit or foundation work
Responsibilities – Essential Functions:
- Lead an ongoing place-based evaluation for a large foundation aiming to impact Grand Rapids
- Guide foundation staff in conceptualizing the impact the foundation is making in Grand Rapids
- Provide strategic thought partnership and research advising to foundations and other clients
- Lead research and evaluation projects and capacity building efforts related to racial equity
- Manage client relationships and project progress
- Scope out time/budget requirements for new projects
- Ensure high quality research and ethics
- Mentor junior staff and students on project responsibilities and research skills
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research
- Write reports aimed toward a variety of audiences
- Other duties as assigned
Salary: $65,000 - $85,000/year
