Position Summary

The Enhanced Foster Care Specialist position is responsible for the day to day functioning of the Enhanced Foster Care program.

Flexible work schedule after an initial training period that includes working in the office and out of the office.

Annual Salary Range: $40,680.00 - $44.070.00

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

Serves a maximum caseload of eight (8) EFC children
Provides treatment planning and leadership of the treatment team
Participates in the recruitment, orientation and training of foster parents
Works in-conjunction with the Foster Care Worker on intake of youth, placement and program evaluation
Assists in driving and transporting clients when needed
Completes and submits required CCWM, and WMPC documents, specific to EFC, within the required time frames
Collaborates with Behavioral Aides to assist with appropriate behavioral health and mental health services to child and family to ensure appropriate services are being implemented and appropriately utilized
Shows compliance with policies and procedures of DCWL, DHHS, contracts, standards, agency and program expectations
Maintains contact with the child, biological family, caregiver, attorneys, therapists, school personnel and/or other service providers related to the implementation of the service plan
Attends supervision, staff program trainings, and agency meetings

Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
Ability to meet requirements of all contracts, licensing regulations and State/Federal oversight

Recommended Employment Qualifications

Education:

A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or a Human Service related area is required.
A Master's Degree in a Human Services field is preferred.

Experience:

At least one (1) year experience working in Child Welfare, Family systems or in an Education Interventionalist role along with experience in assessment and treatment planning is required.
Completion of Child Welfare Training Institute (CWTI) is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

CWTI Certification
State of Michigan Social Work licensure is preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
