Job Title: Deputy Director, Housing & Integrated Services

Position Summary
Caritas seeks a dynamic, dedicated individual as Deputy Director of Housing and Integrated Services who will oversee a portfolio of various programs. The Deputy Director will be an accomplished leader and coach, with the ability to operate on strategic, managerial, and hands-on levels and help guide the organization across programmatic functions.
The Deputy Director will bring proven non-profit management expertise and experience in community-based programs. This is a highly visible position that ensures the work is carried out in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and culture of Caritas. The Deputy Director will partner closely with the Leadership Team to chart Caritas’ future growth and strategic response to an ever-increasing demand for the organization’s services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (inclusive but not exhaustive):
Department Management
- Strong networking and relationship management skills.
- Provide long-term, inspirational vision while simultaneously creating pragmatic solutions to day-to-day problems.
- Identify best practices and improve internal systems with an eye toward future needs and budget realities.
- Is familiar with all aspects of government and private grants in the department.
- Ensure all programs comply with grant requirements.
- Identify and guide program managers in implementing systems that streamline workflow at all program levels.
- Participate in all program monitoring reviews conducted by funding sources.
- Proven record of accomplishment of strategic financial management and assists program supervisors in budget development.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of potential risk to the agency, including clients, staff, and volunteers.
Leadership
- Remain calm, steady and focused on the face of pressure, meets deadlines, and is not intimidated by task/time limitations.
- Has superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to generate respect and trust from colleagues, direct reports, and external constituents.
- Contribute to a strong organization via participation on the Leadership Team.

- Identifies opportunities and challenges and works across departments and teams to craft innovative solutions.
- Represent Caritas in industry-group conferences, professional associations, and other public venues.
Client Services
- Ensure that housing services adhere to evidence -based and best practices, including adherence to Housing First principles.
- Structure programs and guide managers to lead teams who deliver outstanding client services.
- Ensure staff adherence to Client Services Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in all relevant programmatic meetings.
- Guide program supervisors in identifying critical data collection needs (outputs and outcomes).
- Use results of program evaluation and data to continuously improve client services and ensure client satisfaction.
Supervision
- Hire, train, supervise, develop, and evaluate program supervisors.
- Ensure that strategic professional development is happening for staff at all levels, including accessing outside training and planning for team-wide learning opportunities.
- Understand and adhere to agency policies and procedures, e.g., Employee Handbook.
- Lead the departmental team in developing their skills, a positive morale, and positive working relationships reflective of agency values and philosophy.
- Addresses HR issues with guidance from the HR Director.
Organization Support Functions
- Eagerness to work as part of a team, both as a leader and in a supporting capacity.
- Works with program and development staff on applicable grant sources.
- Participate in agency-wide events, planning and training functions.
- Comply with administrative procedures, reporting, and record keeping policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Chief Programs Officer.
- Design an approved plan for professional development as a director and leader.
- Treat clients, staff, volunteers and the general public with courtesy and respect
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, public health, counseling, or other related fields in the area of human services from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Required: Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, public health, counseling, or other related fields in the area of human services from an accredited college or university.
- Preferred: Licensure: LMSW, LCSW, LPC, or LCDC
Experience
- MUST have minimum of ten (10) years of program related experience.
- At least three (3) years of housing experience (e.g. permanent supportive housing and/or rapid rehousing) preferred.
- MUST have minimum of five (5) years of leadership and management experience.
Computer Skills
- Must be computer literate. Knowledge of Microsoft Suite.

Other Requirements:
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 30 days of employment and have access to dependable transportation.

Salary/Benefits:
- Base Salary Range: $83,993-$92,229.
