The HR Generalist ensures that Adelante Mujeres' Human Resource Department champions the health of the organization and the needs of our employees. The HR Generalist plays an active role in benefit administration, HR policy and process management, employee relations, talent retention and offboarding, and compliance. The HR Generalist acts as the liaison between HR and employees, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution to employee requests and questions as well as supports practices, policies and procedures that support an employee-oriented, community-centered and culturally responsive organization. They are responsible for obtaining, recording, and interpreting confidential human resources information within Adelante. The HR Generalist reports to the People & Culture Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports benefits administration to include enrollments, terminations, changes and employee inquires. Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors.
- Administers various human resource policies and procedures for all personnel including assisting in implementation of personnel policies and procedures and maintaining the employee handbook.
- Supports internal and external requests regarding human resources and employee issues, concerns, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
- Responsible for retention and offboarding activities including exit interviews and related documentation
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
- As a member of the HR team, provides support and coverage as needed in the recruitment and orientation process and stays current with employment law and HR best practices
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Knowledge of employment law and HR practices obtained through a degree or certification in HR such as Human Resources Management, Business, or a related field or 2 years of relevant HR experience
- Microsoft Office Suite & HRIS experience.
- Critical thinking and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop good working relationships with a wide range of people, including excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to be resourceful, drive efficiencies and problem-solve effectively
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

- Ability to travel out of town to attend workshops or trainings
SALARY & BENEFITS:
- Salary range: $52K-$56K annually, depending on qualifications
- Classification Full-time, salaried position
- Telework: up to 2 days a week
