Care Partners Hospice and Palliative Care Interim CEO (.8 to 1.0 FTE)

Objective:
The Interim CEO will provide strategic leadership and management to ensure the stability and sustainability of Care Partners navigating through current challenges while preparing for a smooth transition to a permanent CEO. The Interim CEO will be in charge of financial and operations, rebuild trust among staff and board of directors, and set a strategic direction that aligns with the organization�s mission and values.
Duration:
The appointment is expected to last approximately 3-6 months, with the possibility of extension based on the organization's needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management
- Provide strong, effective, and transparent leadership to all aspects of the organization.
- Assess and optimize the organizational structure and leadership team to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Optimize the organization�s operations in the face of current challenges in the healthcare landscape.
- Maintain and enhance the organization's reputation and standing in the community.
- Financial Oversight
- Develop and oversee a short-term financial plan to ensure operational continuity.
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, cost reductions, and efficiency improvements.
- Strategic Planning
- Lead a strategic review process to redefine organizational priorities and align them with current realities and opportunities.
- Develop and begin implementation of a strategic plan to guide the organization towards growth.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Build trust and ensure effective communication with and between staff, the board, volunteers, donors, and the broader community.
- Engage with key stakeholders to ensure their support and involvement in the organization�s strategic direction.
- Transition Planning
- Prepare for the successful onboarding of a permanent CEO by ensuring clear documentation of the organization�s current status, strategic initiatives underway, and key challenges and opportunities.
- Implement systems and processes for effective knowledge transfer to the incoming CEO.
- Compliance and Governance
- Ensure that the organization complies with all legal and regulatory requirements (with support from Oregon Nonprofit Hospice Alliance and Affiliate Executive Directors).
- Work closely with the Board of Directors to fulfill governance responsibilities and facilitate informed decision-making.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 10 years of experience, healthcare experience, hospice preferred
- Must have good skills in using electronic tools and the ability to develop excellence in using software and electronic systems for the purpose of gathering, interpreting, and communicating data and clinical outcomes such as customer relationship management database, excel, data analytics, and electronic medical records.
- Requires successful results for professional background checks and drug screen, both pre-hire and while employed as required by regulations.

Reporting:
The Interim CEO will report directly to the Care Partners Board of Directors and will work closely with the board chair.
