Who we are looking for:
We are a forward-thinking Autism Specific Specialist School seeking a Senior Positive Behaviour Support Coordinator to work with our Transdisciplinary Team (TDT) to support our students within the school.
We cater for up to 93 young people aged 4-22 with Autism. We are developing significant professional and working partnerships with the already established NAS schools drawing on knowledge and expertise through professional working relationships to ensure best practise is shared.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the school’s continuing development where you will be working closely with our Transdisciplinary Team (TDT) and classroom based staff. As a transdisciplinary team we strive to deliver best practice at all times to our students, and are passionate about continued service and professional development.
We aim to deliver the highest level of education and experiences to ensure the best life chances become a sustainable reality for every young person (on an individual needs led basis). Together, we will create a safe, positive and structured environment in which every young person is respected and encouraged to achieve independence (through academic, employment and personal skills development).
To be considered for this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate a passion and enthusiasm for supporting autistic pupils and have excellent verbal, and written communication skills, as collaborative working within the Transdisciplinary team is essential. You will be flexible in your working practice and a good team player. We are looking to appoint a confident and skilled professional who is committed to developing expertise and specialism within the field.
You will be actively involved in staff training and there will also be the opportunity to increase your knowledge and skills through participation in team and wider NAS continuing professional development (CPDs) programmes.
You must hold a Degree in Psychology (2:1 or above) with graduate basis for registration with the British Psychological Society (BPS) or equivalent experience. We need you to be resilient, supportive and sensitive towards the needs of autistic people.
Along with a host of benefits – from shopping discounts to flexible working and a competitive pension scheme - we’ll make sure you get excellent autism-specific training to help further your career. You will be supported by a Practitioner HCPC Registered Principal Psychologist and will receive regular supervision. In addition, this post offers highly desirable working arrangements with the successful candidate benefiting from 9 non-working weeks per year.
