The Mail Inserter Operator operates and maintains high speed computerized inserting equipment to process letters and statements while ensuring all quality standards and policies are being met. We are looking for someone for the Mail Inserter Operator role to:
- Operates a high speed mail inserter to process statements, letters and promotional inserts, correctly identifying each mailing application and proper equipment set-up.
- Responsible for ensuring that correct postage is being used as established by USPS guidelines and proper dates are on the envelopes.
- Responsible for ensuring that proper inserts and envelopes are being used per established guidelines.
- Utilizes the inserter’s internal operating system and PC to generate reports and document production.
- Maintains document integrity, ensuring barcodes are being accurately read and meeting HIPAA/GLBA Compliance standards.
- Performs operator maintenance on equipment to optimize production, and follow safety standards. Places service calls with technicians when needed.
- Ensures adequate mailing supplies are on-hand at all times.
- Ensures mail is prepared for transportation in line with USPS pre-sort (PST) regulations.
We need someone who has:
- High School diploma or equivalent education/experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical skills or aptitude is a necessity.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work in order to effectively meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to details.
- Demonstrates proficient computer skills, and basic math skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to make sound logical decisions at times with little input from management.
- Willingness to learn and stay current on postal rules and regulations and the ability to ensure they are met.
