As World Central Kitchen expands its global reach and ability to respond to multiple crises at once, our network of prominent culinary leaders must grow to meet the moment. The Asia Chef Corps Recruitment Specialist will chiefly support the expansion of the Chef Corps program in Asia using their language skills, cultural expertise, and established networks in the hospitality industry. They will also support the Chef Corps Director by collecting and updating valuable data, conducting regional research, helping plan and execute regional recruitment events, and offer administrative support as needed.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Utilize established networks and connections; staff referrals post-responses; AI-supported tools; and grassroots research methods to identify and vet prominent culinary leaders within the Asia region who fit the criteria of the Chef Corps program.
- Pitch potential Chef Corps members with the reach to further the Chef Corps program’s goals and adapt recruitment methodologies based on feedback.
- Schedule and help lead Chef Corps onboarding interviews in Asia and send welcome materials and onboarding paperwork once completed.
- Update the Chef Corps database and directory when new Chef Corps members join or when their information changes.
- Collaborate with the Chef Corps Director on identifying and executing recruitment opportunities in Asia.
- Build relationships with chef associations, community organizations, recurring food festivals, and culinary schools in Asia
- Serve as a point of contact for Chef Corps members and prospects based in Asia.
- Support Chef Corps members based in Asia on their fundraising efforts by relying on language and cultural knowledge.
- Translate Chef Corps recruitment and onboarding materials into Asian languages as needed in collaboration with other colleagues.
- Support the Chef Corps Director and other Response Team members during disaster assessments and responses in Asia as needed.
- Assist with gathering content for newsletters, the web, and social media featuring Asia-based Chef Corps members
- Attend and support events involving Chef Corps members in Asia.
- Contribute ideas about how to improve and strengthen the Chef Corps program.
Duration: The Asia Recruitment Specialist is a three (3) month contract term position with the opportunity for renewal, offering a unique chance to lead and shape WCK's responses.
Rates: Contract rates are based on experience and location.

- 3-5 years of relevant hospitality employment experience
- Demonstrated knowledge or strong interest in the hospitality industry
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated experience using AI technology to meet professional goals
- Demonstrated abilities in community-building and interfacing with high-profile professionals
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated experience in dynamic environments with ability to pivot immediately
- Demonstrated knowledge of culture, customs, geography, and politics in Asian countries
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in an additional Asian languages is highly preferred (Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Tagalog, Thai).
