A Brief Overview
Responsible for planning and implementing strategies to identify, cultivate and solicit donors with the ability to make annual, major, capital, and endowments, planned gifts and corporate sponsorships, typically of $10,000 or more, to support the mission of Children's Nebraska.
Essential Functions
- Manages a portfolio of 80-100 prospects and ensures regular contact with donors through various activities and communications, especially face to face meetings.
- Develops and implements thoughtful, strategic cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for prospective donors and corporate partners for gifts of $10,000+.
- Works with Lead Director; Philanthropy to identify new annual, grateful family, major, planned giving prospects and corporate partners.
- Collaborates with directors of philanthropy to create and implement solicitation strategies to nurture prospects, with an emphasis on developing major giving donors.
- Collaborates with Hospital and Foundation Board Members to provide introductions and endorsements when possible.
- Serves as foundation liaison in assisting physicians, program directors and administration with capital and programmatic funding needs.
- Prepares post-award reports and regularly updates Raiser’s Edge with donor engagement information.
- Coordinate gift administration and reporting requirements for portfolio gift agreements related to multi-year pledges, stock gifts, bequests, estate, charitable trusts, annuities, and other gift instruments.
- Ensures state and federal laws related to the deferred fundraising process are adhered to.
- Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job.

Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in business, marketing or a related field Required
Experience Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years's of fundraising experience required
- Demonstrated ability to secure major and planned gifts required
- Experience in health-care related industry preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Major gift and planned giving experience essential including a high level of expertise in taxes and federal, gift and estate planning methods as well as legal aspects of charitable giving.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- High level of initiative and energy required; demonstrated ability to self-initiate and implement plans based upon interpretation of data and organizational resources.
- Collaborative skills for successful team building.
- Computer proficiency with Raiser’s Edge software and Microsoft Office products.
- Maintain ethical standards set forth by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP)
