ABOUT THIS POSITION
This position works closely with the Donor Relations Manager to implement strategy for individual major gift donor relationships, fund-raising initiatives for Capital Campaign, and future initiatives for planned giving to meet short and long-term goals for the organization. The primary objective of the Philanthropy Officer is to develop long-term relationships built on a firm understanding of donor’s philanthropic interest, passions, and values. This position will be responsible for soliciting gifts from donors, supporters, and friends of the organization..
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cultivate and deepen donor relationships with assigned portfolio through regular personal communication.
- Identify and engage potential new donors.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of donor relationships in the donor database. Document each contact and maintain up-to-date contact information for each donor.
- Deepen awareness of Open Door Mission’s ministry by giving tours, sharing volunteer opportunities, and telling the stories of Open Door Mission.
- Exemplify Jesus Christ daily, sharing the gospel or praying with others as opportunities arise.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Visible relationship with Christ and regularly attend a Bible-believing church.
- Ability to share the Gospel as opportunities arise.
- Bachelor degree in marketing, public relations, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in fundraising and sales-marketing.
- Experience in public speaking.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
