As a Unit Head on the JCamps team, you will be part of the Administrative Team in the Youth and Teen Department. Unit Heads are responsible for administrative and programmatic tasks in their unit. Each unit contains 3-6 bunks (or groups) of children based on age range or specialty camp such as sports. This position is a seasonal full-time position. The expected hours are from 8AM-4PM Monday through Friday. Seasonal work begins May 28 and goes through July 26 with opportunities to work through August 16. Hours are subject to change based on the camp’s needs.What you will be doing:- Supervise and ensure the well-being of the staff in their unit including job satisfaction, performance, and co-worker communication.
- Oversee camper’s health, safety, and level of happiness and participation.
- Collaborates on special event and theme days
- Manages and conducts evaluations of staff in their unit.
- Completes administrative tasks such as accident and incident reports.
- Communicates with parents, as necessary.
- Participate in planning sessions before and throughout camp as a member of the summer administration team.
What you will bring:- Unit Heads must have knowledge and competency of child development for children grades K-6
- Must be at least 18 by the start of camp and able to pass a background check.
- Positive attitude and self-motivated.
- Works well collaboratively in a team environment.

- Must be able to meet routine office physical demands including climbing stairs, carrying up to 20-pound objects and possessing the dexterity and vision to operate office computers and equipment.
