Lead Worker (Sparks) - Peckham Inc.

Hours: 11:00 am - 7:30 pm
SUMMARY
In addition to the regular Custodial Services duties of keeping a building (or buildings) in a clean and orderly condition, a Custodial Services Lead Worker must possess the ability to lead an Custodial Services crew in the performance of regular daily cleaning duties. They must receive and implement directions from an on-site supervisor and/or Crew Leader. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter able to work with a supervisor on resolving issues that may arise at a moment’s notice. Placement site can change at any time based on contract requirements or the needs of the line of business.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Completing inventory.
Maintain safety and security standards.
Communicate schedules and tasks from the supervisor to the team.
Exemplify leadership with excellence in areas of quality, customer service, work ethic, attendance, and behavior.
Complete quality assurance inspections and report results to supervisor.
Utilize excellent interpersonal skills with customers, supervisor, and team members.
Communicating team needs to supervisor.
Independently perform general custodial duties including, but not limited to:
Completing special periodic work projects as needed under supervision of a supervisor. These projects include all types of carpet and hard floor care as well as other Custodial Services projects assigned by supervision.
Assist with the training of new team members.
Assist in maintaining equipment.
Produce quality work in an ever-changing environment.
Utilize a teamwork approach for all projects.
Promote Peckham’s vision, values, and services to all customers and stakeholders.
Responsible for emergency event handling including knowing Safety Data Sheet locations and use.
Practice proper security, safety, and ergonomic standards at building sites.
Receive and implement constructive feedback in a professional manner.
Accept other jobs/duties as assigned and training as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
18 years of age or older
Ability to read and/or interpret written or pictorial documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, task lists, schedules, and procedure manuals.
Communicate proficiently in English (verbal or written).
Able to independently complete all general custodial tasks.
Must pass and maintain background checks.
Meet minimum physical requirements of the position (see Physical Demands).
Able to commit to a regular schedule.
Must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED is preferred
Basic computer skills are highly desired
Experience in working with and maintaining custodial equipment
Experience or certifications in periodic tasks
Driver’s license and personal transportation
Strong soft skills, e.g., coping/stress management skills, time management skills, conflict management skills, self-starter.
