We are seeking passionate and dedicated candidates who are beginning or looking to begin their journey as an NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive functional behaviour assessments to understand the root causes of challenging behaviours.
• Develop and implement individualised Positive Behaviour Support Plans in collaboration with the individual, their family, and support team.
• Provide training to individuals and their support network on effective communication, coping strategies, and skill-building.
• Support the consistent implementation of Positive Behaviour Support Plans and regularly monitor their effectiveness, making adjustments as necessary.
• Collaborate with other professionals and coordinate with the individual's support team to ensure a holistic approach to support.
• Maintain accurate records of assessments, plans, and interventions, and provide regular progress reports.
• Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities, promoting inclusion and access to community resources.
• Develop crisis intervention strategies and provide training on crisis management to support staff and caregivers.
• Stay informed about the latest research, best practices, and developments in the field through continuous professional development.
• Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines, respecting the dignity, autonomy, and rights of individuals with disabilities.

Your Profile of Excellence
• Field Experience: experience working within the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support space or relevant disability experience, and knowledge of the NDIS framework and relevant legislation.
• Distinguished Tertiary Qualifications: well-regarded but not essential, a tertiary degree in psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy, social work, education or Nursing.
• Practitioner suitability: Assessed as a suitable Behaviour Support Practitioner (confirmation from NDIS required) or willingness to apply for suitability.
• Evidence-Based Innovator: Demonstrate ability in seamlessly integrating evidence-based frameworks, and developing comprehensive support systems that encompass the whole individual.
• Focus on Personalisation: Embrace a person-centred approach, delivering services tailored to each individual's unique needs.
• Commitment to Excellence: Demonstrate unwavering dedication to maintaining and improving service quality for exceptional results.

• Required Qualifications: Possession of an Australian driver’s license, a Working with Children Card, a First Aid Certificate, and an NDIS Workers Screening Check (or willingness to obtain these before employment).
