The Advancement Officer will focus on donors giving lower-to mid-level and major annual fund gifts across all areas of the AbleLight. Specifically, gifts ranging from $1,000 - $5,000 and up. This individual will manage a portfolio of current and lapsed AbleLight donors as well as create marketing strategies to identify and engage with new donors.
The Advancement Officer will create solicitation strategies and timetables with a focus on attracting new donors. The Advancement Officer will also be responsible for analyzing and reporting specific metrics as they relate to the AbleLight’s mid-level and annual fund major giving. This individual will work collaboratively with AbleLight’s Advancement team on specific projects and initiatives aligned with the Advancement Plan. This position will focus on growth and expansion in all aspects of advancement as well as potential regional market campaign planning. Direct responsibility for securing revenue with donors in their respective market as well as identifying new opportunities in regional markets that align with organizational strategic initiatives for expansion.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 6 years relevant experience or an equivalent combination.
- 3 years of successful corporate giving, foundation and high net worth relations experience.
- Self-driven with a strong ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in donor database platforms and/or CRM. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and a high degree of accuracy in donor records.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Aware of current trends in solicitation and stewardship that aid donor renewal, upgrade, recapture, and acquisition.
- Disciplined work ethic prioritizing, proactive, effective, and efficient process, and accurate results.
- Hybrid work environment with the ability to travel with your assigned region.

Responsibilities:
Donor Development Regional:
- Actively develop cultivation and solicitation strategies for a portfolio of 100 to 150 mid-level and major gift donors and prospects including individuals, corporate, foundation, institutions, faith-based, and organizations and manages network of relationships with these donors.
- Identify and engage new, highly philanthropic individual prospects who are unaffiliated with organization to Evaluate various gift opportunities and giving vehicles and propose the most suitable options for a particular donor to manage, solicit, cultivate, and steward a portfolio of funders, prospects, and suspects with the capacity to donate six and seven figure gifts.
- Produce compelling top-level funding proposals that link funder priorities with organizational goals and initiatives. Ensure that proposal materials meet funder criteria, are persuasive, accurate, well targeted, and meet funder deadlines.
- Report and document all contacts in Donor Database and adjust plans as needed.
- Utilize Donor Database to its highest potential including but not limited to updating constituent profiles, recording actions, and creating efficient workflows.
Business Acumen:
- Actively participates in sessions with our Advancement Leadership and Executive Leadership team to discuss d develop ways they can actively engage with high net worth and corporate sponsors.
- Work closely with the Director of Advancement to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy for the region focusing on major gifts, new major gift acquisition, corporations, faith-based organizations, and foundations while establishing presence in new communities.
- Aware of current trends related to a variety of topics to engage in meaningful and relevant conversations with prospective donors, partners, and foundations. This includes business, financial, social, technology and philanthropy/fundraising strategies and trends in the market.
- Develops comprehensive business plans and strategies to generate increased revenue to support organizational budget, strategic plan initiatives and market expansion efforts.
- Formulate, implement, and recommend short-term and multi-year business and fundraising plans for foundation, high net worth donors, faith based and corporate source.
