JOB SUMMARY: Employment Specialist I assist job seekers with finding employment to ensure long term stability and job retention. They work with job seekers to identify areas of interest, evaluate barriers, and create employment plans to locate training, job, or career tracks that make sense for the individual. All certificate and program graduates and Employment Services Center (ESC) clients have access to the Employment Specialist for access to Goodwill employer partners and the identification of additional support for continuity in employment.
Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour with Benefits
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
� Assist clients with job searches.
� Teach basic computer navigation skills to clients.
� Help job seekers complete resumes, cover letters, and apply for jobs in their chosen area or vocation in the Employment Services Center and in a 1:1 coaching situation.
� Complete assessments, individual employment plans, and conduct interviews with job seekers to determine employability and access to gainful employment opportunities.
� Serve as the employment resource to Goodwill Career Pathways Institute GCPI) program graduates.
� Serve as the employment resource to clients through the Employment Services Center
� Align resources to support job seekers with job interviews.
� Ensure proper documentation is obtained by job seekers for employment which includes but is not limited to: Driver�s licenses, social security cards and other acceptable forms of identification.
� If needed, assist clients with obtaining necessary identification documents by submitting applications to the proper state and local authorities to obtain reissuance of identification documents.
� Advocate on behalf of the job seeker with employers.
� Recruit and maintain partner relationships that align with Goodwill certificates and programs.
� Assist with training workshops to support job seekers such as Dress for Success, Interview Techniques, and Employment Essentials.
� Maintain data for clients served and report that data to supervisor as requested. Reports will include but not be limited to weekly reports, monthly reports, and any other additional information as requested.
� Maintain SNAP workbook, contact with SNAP, and follow-up with SNAP recipients to provide resources.
� Perform follow-up calls and basic case management with SNAP recipients.
� Serve as the contact with the local work innovation board and attend related meetings on Goodwill�s behalf.
� Maintain CARF records pertinent to the accreditation on behalf of Employment Services CARF Standard 2.D.
� Communicate with Recruiters about the status of the Job seekers concerning employment and what may be needed to ensure the client is employed and remains employed.
� Each Employment Specialist alternates between serving in the ESC and providing 1:1 client coaching with GCPI completers.
� Review, discuss, explain, and adjust the client�s employment goals as needed.
� Refer all qualified job seekers to other partner agencies for wrap around support services.
� Maintain accurate records and data for all clients served in CaseWorthy and in spreadsheets.
� Report data to supervisor in a timely manner to include weekly, monthly, and as needed reporting.
� Attend meetings as requested and provide report out of the job seekers current progress towards their employment goals.
� Attend both Goodwill and community career fairs to work on behalf of job seekers.
� Maintain consistent contact with caseload to ensure employment success.
� Ensure HIPAA compliance and client confidentiality at all times
� Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
� Some college work and/or Associate�s degree preferred.
� This position requires someone to be able to work with all populations of people with barriers in their background that could present a challenge to employment.
� Experience in job development for individuals with multiple barriers to employment preferred.
� Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite as well as ability to aptly navigate the internet with ease.
� Must have driver�s license, valid insurance, and a clean driving record.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
� Work in a climate-controlled environment most of the time.

� Local travel within the state is required on occasion.
